I have a 2007 electric cart. its really slow. I have put new batteries in it. and upgraded my wires. I have been told that it might have to be programed at a Yamaha dealer. is this true ? is there anything I can do to make it faster. sorry I am new to electric golf cart. so don't mind dum question

Look for serial number sticker in drivers side glove box (G22), look for serial number sticker under seat on steel rectangle tube (YDRE).

If you are not currently going 19mph, the.dealer can make it go 19mph (if you have lights, horn, reflectors). The difference is the G22 is much easier to upgrade, due to its main harness connector being readily available to the aftermarket controller makers. I have made custom upgrade systems for drives, but nothing is currently available "off the shelf". Even if you replace the motor, the controller will keep the speed at a stock level.

There are currently no "direct bolt in" controllers for the drive.

There are currently no controllers available with the correct plug to hook up to the original wiring harness.
