Default G22 acceleration surge

Familiar with CC products, but came across deal too good to pass up on a G22, but concerned with the severe acceleration at part throttle. The cart is actually extremely difficult to modulate the throttle. The slightest press of the foot results is sudden acceleration, to the point it could be a safety issue. Basically, the pedal almost acts like an on/off switch. Any suggestions?

Take off cover in bagwell, note brand of controller (GE or Moric were available). Post controller brand and cart year. fyi, all g22e were 48v. Also, everything else stock?

Just googled some prices for the moric controller and omg they were expensive. I sure hope its something simple and cheap that is your culprit.

Test throttle pot range (0= stopped, 5k= full speed, must be smooth climb to 5k). If it is identified as a bad controller, i have put alltrax in there pretty easy (but alltrax says cant do it). Alltrax is cheaper and better than a Moric.

Aloha All - Hope someone can help diagnose. My my mom with back and neck problems has the same issue but still needs the golf cart. Used to be a gentle start. I can feather it in forward somewhat but still surges. Worse in reverse like on off switch.

I replaced the Throttle Accelerator Potentiometer (that's an adventure 5 times till got it perfect) but same problems. Worse in reverse it seems.

Batteries are 4 12v Marine / Starter batteries. Otherwise stock.

48v - Moric JU2-H6510-22 JU2-304794
