Default G2 - G19 Control Arms

So, it appears that the same front control arm is used on G2 - G19 carts. The arms aren't in production any longer I'm guessing, and are pretty spendy (approx. $250 - 300) when you can find them NOS.

Given that they are all prone to wear in the bushing area and can easily get egg'ed out to the point that replacement bushings aren't an option, is anyone refurbishing old arms (exchange basis would be handy) or making oversize bushings so that you could jig up with a drill press and bore out the upper and lower spindle bushing holes?

It would also be easy enough to weld up the spindle bushing holes and redrill them for standard bushings. Not everyone wants to do a lifted front end, or in the case of the Pachanga lift, you need stock control arms as part of the install.

Are there any options I'm missing, or is somebody already set up to do this work? I've searched all the forums and only found one reference to someone repairing a control arm.

Any advice or guide to a repair service?

I have welded and re-drilled them before. 17mm drill bit required.

Are the hole centers parallel with the back of the spindle bracket....no built in positive or negative inclination of the kingpin? I don't have a unworn control arm to reference on my '98 G19 or my '99 G19 spare parts cart.

Also, did you just use a mild steel rod to do the buildup, or use a hard-facing rod to make the hole more wear resistant?
