DPI charger fail on Yamaha G22
I am 2 days into owning my 1st golf cart. I don't think the charger that came with it is working right. I've browsed this site for hours already learning a ton from you guys. I was wondering if this is common or repairable on my own. The lights when plugged in all blink 2 times then the red power LED wil blink once and then nothing. I've included a video link that I recorded to aide in my discription
My bad the site won't let me link it yet because I'm so new It is a DPI 48v charger for a yamaha Thanks guys Last edited by DBRZ34; 06-12-2014 at 09:18 AM.. Reason: Grammar |

Re: DPI charger fail on Yamaha G22
It's a smart charger and the cart is new to you so do you think it is recognizing a short? Have you verified wiring is correct. No loose connections.

The cart runs very strong and there are no loose nuts or wires-

Re: DPI charger fail on Yamaha G22
The previous owner told me this morning that he thinks lightning hit his building and fried some things. The charger was plugged in, in the building. With that said are there fuses in the charger or something that I could replace to make it work?

Re: DPI charger fail on Yamaha G22
what is the battery pack voltage if it is too low the charger may not come on.
also I believe the transformer should put something on the order of 54 volts out. there are also two diodes and a capacitor to check. if all those pieces check out okay it could be the board |

Re: DPI charger fail on Yamaha G22
Thanks cgtech, I will contact them soon, the seller actually ordered me a new charger today and is having it shipped to my door. In the mean time if have read somewhere at sometime that I could use a regular 12v battery charger ( like one for a car) to charge my batteries so they don't get too run down. I think I read that as long as I linked all positives together and all negatives together and charge it that way then it would be fine. Is this in fact true?
I did check the 110 outlet and even plugged it in to 3 separate ones on 3 separate circuits . I was trying to eliminate all error on my part before I asked for help. |
