Welcome to the forum jumpinjack01...................

Yes, it can be done, but unless you are well versed in fabrication & electronics, you may want to get a local golf car shop to do it for you.

Lots of components have to be changed out including the motor and accelerator control.

Most of the folks who do it understand the concept and all it's theory and it's a no brainer. However for others, they attempt it and nothing works when they get finished.

Get more input from the guys here.

Welcome! It's not that hard to update to solid state, just expenssive. You would really only need a "controller and pot box assy". You already have batteries/motor/solenoid/forward-reverse switch and a key switch. The question would be, what do you want it to do? Are you going to keep it 36 volt ? (least expenssive option) do you want to go to 48 volts ? Do you want tourqe or speed ? Good luck. Dave

You could change the motor or "feilds" in your motor for more speed or change the gears in your rear end to high peed ones.

I've searched the net and I can't find a "high peed" rear end, where do you recommend me getting one ?
