New Yamaha 2010 Owner
Hey Guys! OLMAN steered me to post over here for my cart rebuild on a new to me off the course 2010 Yamaha. I gave $1,800 for it, for this area, seemed to be the best deal I could get
This is my first cart, I can't post photos for 7 days but it looks to be in decent condition, I put on the rear seat yesterday and was impressed by the condition of the underbody. It does have the less than optimal 4-12 battery configuration and I believe they are original so I think that is the first order of business to upgrade. Sounds like people go to the 6-8 route. I'll have to find a tutorial on here to do that, sounds like a battery cable upgrade will be in order as well I might have to research the PTV code but 3 boys under the age of 10 and a nervous wife, might make that wait. Thanks for looking and please feel free to overshare as I have been creeping this forum for a few weeks and there is a ton of great looking carts and lots of brilliant minds out there. I would say my order of events will be lights (trying to find LED front and rear), batteries, rehab black plastic, wheels/tires, possible 3"lift, paint Jon |

Re: New Yamaha 2010 Owner
I think I'm over my 7 day probation period....here are some photos
[IMG][/IMG] I need to rehab some of the black plastic and I got an all LED light kit to put in this weekend. I'm still going back and forth on the new batteries....four 12v or six 8v....decisions decisions. it is just a tooling around the neighborhood cart so I don't know. it is making a god awful noise when I brake, I'm going to check the rear axl level and also a mechanic said to check something on the rear drivers side behind the tire, it might be loose, not sure what he is talking about but I will jack it up and take wheel off to inspect. |

The nut in the middle of the 4 studs that attach the wheel should be at 75 ft/lb. Check the passenger side too.

The noise is only present when I have a load on the back seat and when we are just about stopped, I had three ten year olds on the back last night and it was really bad. I'm hoping to get to that nut today and I also want to check the transaxle fluid. |

Re: New Yamaha 2010 Owner
I know, priorities, but we needed lights to help get around the neighborhood, not many street lights around.
Seems this light kit is prewired for turnsignals and brakes, instructions show you how to install the brake pad and turn signals and the wiring harness is all set up for the turn signals. Might be worth checking into at a later date. had to zip tie all the extra stuff up underneath. Pretty happy with the lights, I will say they are really bright and they are adjustable up and down, which is a nice feature. hopefully get around to checking the torque on that nut and the transaxle fluid level today. I bought a service manual which should come in the mail next week. Last note, I think I found out where the cart has been the last 4 years, a 9 hole private country club here in South Carolina, as I've been tearing stuff apart, I've found some pencils and tees with the name of the course on it. Lots of pine straw stuck up underneath the chasis as well. No wonder it is in such good shape! only 9 holer at a private club! |

Hey, yours looks exactly like my 2010 I got 3 days ago. Here it is straight off the course. I have since gave it a good cleaning.

Re: New Yamaha 2010 Owner
I do like it already and it only goes 12 mph, that will change very soon though. I'm sure newb24 likes his a lot also since he started this thread. I have many plans for mine, including a highly subjective battery pack and a nice set of street 12" wheels with 215-50-12 tires. Searching for best offset now for no rubbing when making turns......

Re: New Yamaha 2010 Owner
I'm really happy with it so far, if I can just get to the bottom of this braking noise. Played 18 today instead of looking into it.... maybe this week sometime....I think I can get to the nut without taking off the tires again!
Family is getting a lot of use out of it...which is good. SC, looks identical! I can only dream of tires, wife is already upset about the rear seat and the lights we added, so I need to get some tires on the down low. I'm not going to lift it, so just looking to get some good rims and decent comfortable tires to ride on. Speaking of batteries, I went ahead and spent a whopping 9 bucks on a battery repair kit to try, says with a some boiled solution and a trickle charge, it will rehab the batteries. batteries are on their last leg so what can it hurt for 9 bucks and some time! anyone try it before? |

Re: New Yamaha 2010 Owner
Yeah, I too ordered a light kit and back seat the day I brought it home.
As for the battery cheap fix, ain't gonna happen. It's been tried time and time again with little success. Still, for $9 you can prove it to yourself. |
