Here is a little one day event that may be fun for some people, I have already registered and have a place to stay but thought I would share with everyone else. Follow the links if you want to attend and you can register ahead of time, caution is does cost more to register the day of the event then it does ahead of time. The first link talks about which I have copied and posted below, the second link is for the registration if wish to attend.

Golf Cart Poker Run Coming Soon
pokerrun_0The Second Annual Lions Club Golf Cart Poker Run will be held on Saturday, August 2. This event was hugely popular last year, and over 100 golf carts are expected to participate. The Poke Run will start at Barefoot Bill’s American Grill, then proceed to Tiki Beach Bar and Grill, Eagles Club, Steve’s Landing Restaurant and end at Stingaree Down Under. Golf carts will travel down the beach to all locations. Participants draw a playing card at each location (5 cards total).

Best poker hand wins.
Trophies for 1st-2nd-3rd
Trophy for “Best Decorated” Golf Cart
Trophy for “Traveled the Longest Distance” to Participate
Early Registration is $25 per person. Registration the day of the event is $35 per person. Multiple entries can ride in the same cart. Early Registration ends July 31, 2014. Check begins 8 am the day of the event at Barefoot Bill’s American Grill. Each entry receives a T-Shirt, Hat, and 2 Koozies. Proceeds given to Crenshaw and High Island Schools for school supplies. Also benefitting the Lone Survivor Foundation.

That sounds like a fun time Mark as long as there isn't an alcohol check point at the end of the ride.

I think the local PD is cool with it, if you dig through and search you will see the pics at the local stops from last year just don't have an open one in the cart or they will nab you.

Well made it to the Poker Run and back here are some pics of the event. The guys from the Lions Club down there, I will need to separate the first two were Big Larry and Larry that handled marking each wrist strap as you got a card at each stop. Leo was on the loudspeaker letting everyone know what to do and trying to keep the mass of people and carts all organized

Registration started at 0800 if you had not already done so ahead of time and that lasted until 1000. You got two Koozies, Hat and T-shirt that was supported by all the local business's. The registration fee was strictly for the Lions Club to support the kids at local schools. I will be sending Leo a link to this site so that if he wants he can add anything to this thread, I will start with some pics and add some more as I go.

Registration line up and get numbers placed on windshields so the Judges could award for best decorated cart,,,,I did not know this part really and since it took me most of 6 hours it did not happen.
