I bought a new controller, but now I think my batteries are no good. They hold a charge but when I put a load on it, it drops to 21 volts from 36. I neglected checking the cells and now seen they are out of liquid so I filled them up. Are they too far gone to bring back to life? If so is there a reason you can't use 3-12volt batteries rather than 6-6 volt batteries?

I'm using 4 transformer style chargers in series to charge the batteries in the drag cart. One of the 36v chargers was bad so I bought one and everything seemed to be working fine with the repalcement charger but now they will charge perfectly for about 5 minutes and then the pulse badly like one of the chargers is kicking off and on. Problem is that with them in series I can't tell which one it is. Any ideas what I should be checking? All of the relays and such have been bypassed for charging the drag cart and I've double checked the wiring. Everything appears to be fine visually inside all 4 chargers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My neighbor gave me a neat little cart for my great grand daughter (she is 3 ) and I am trying to get it running right so we can use it. I have found manuals that look like what we have but I have had no luck finding the year on it. I have looked in the suggested places and it seems it might be covered in paint.
The problem I am having is it will not shift into anything but high gear. the lower two do not seem to work. What I am looking for is.. a time delay control tube HD # 74875-67 and one diode HD # 74885-67. I found one f these on ebay. I have searched the net with no luck. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Hello to all
I have a 2009 ezgo rxv that I am attempting to install a madjax 30 amp voltage reducer and I am looking for some technical assistance. The wiring diagram shows 5 wires
1) 12v switched output.
2). 12v constant output.
3). 36/48v input from battery
4). 36/48v from key switch
5) 36/48v from battery.

My question lies in the #4 (the key switch wire). I assume this is a signal wire to turn the reducer on. If this is accurate how do I hook this into the key switch. The key switch on the rxv are also the f/n/r selector with a plug into the switch.

Any help is appreciated

Hi Folks, brand new here. Been reading a bunch of "no spark" related posts from my garage in SE Texas & think I hit a wall. I've auto & boat experience, small engines are kinda new for me.

This "new to my dad (less than a year)" 1992 G9A (based on chassis# JG5-112817) was running fine until last week. My dad parked it one night, next day it wouldn't start. I went over & checked the 4 basics, fuel/air/fire/exit & found no fire. After unscrewing the SP cap from the high tension wire & seeing no spark there I suggested he replace the coil. Well, $90 later, still no spark. I decided to bring it to my air conditioned garage to dig deeper. Here's what I've found and/or fixed so far.

Charged the battery
Cleaned battery terminals & posts
Checked coil:
- Primary 1.6 Ohm
- Secondary 10.11K Ohm (no cap)
- Cap 5.46K Ohm
Pickup coil 541 Ohm
Replaced battery to chassis ground
Replaced .25F spade (loose) at orange (+?) on coil

Much like the boats I buy, the electrical looks like it's seen at least a few shade trees.

The cart shop he bought it from thought it was a G14 & sold him a coil based on that. Not sure what they based their "G14" assumption on.

It's a neat lookin little rig, lifted with big ol fat nobby tires & all camo'd out. Sure like to get this running for him. Kind of a Papa's Day gift...

Any thoughts and advise would sure be appreciated.

Thanks much
Karl

Yes, I know. Dumb move but I did it anyway. I had the charger sitting in the cart and started driving around. I turned a corner and it fell out and skidded across the pavement. Its got a pretty good dent in it but I am not worried about the cosmetics. When I plug it into the cart now, all I here is a click. Nothing on the meter and it doesn't sounds like it charging either. Voltmeter confirms not charging.

What say the experts? Is this a really bad sign or is it something possibly simple? Any help on troubleshooting and ideas are appreciated.

Wasn't sure were to post this. But I was wondering if anyone else has had such poor quality service from Buggies Unlimited ?
It started a couple orders ago when I ordered my power driven clutch spring and they sent me the tuner kit for the drive clutch. When I called to let them know that it was incorrect the guy on the phone said it was correct and I would have to call there tech line the next day. I tried to do that but I actually work and sat on hold for an hr and gave up. It was the weekend and we went camping . I returned home to what was supposed to be my sport shifter. I of course instantly ripped into the box to find a master cyl. for a 73 C.C. WTF. The next business day I spent 2 hrs on the phone with a women that huffed and puffed the whole time. Finally got all that taken care of and correct parts in the garage.
So on the 10th I bit the bullet and tried them again with ordering a steering wheel and adapter. I have been calling everyday to get a tracking number or status of my order but cant get any response. I have left multiple messages with order # phone # etc. And even tried to email, still nothing. If they were local I would probably have beat someone by now.
Sorry about the ranting, I just hope no one else has to deal with this kind of service it is beyond me how places can do business this way.

Hi all -

Today's wiring question(hoping JohnnieB sees this) is regarding how to easily wire in the factory stuff with my new voltage reducer and inbound fuse block (featuring a negative bus).

So here's how the existing stuff is powered (and the "stuff" is only lights)

That green wire that goes to this stock fuse panel comes off the positive post of battery 5. It will basically be replaced by the 12v positive from the voltage reducer.

My issue is that There is no visible ground wire. My assumption is that somewhere in the wiring harness/loom all the negatives tie together and come back to the main pack negative in the one lead that connects to that post from the harness.

So my question....can I power the existing accessories by just attaching the posititives (seen in the pic on the existing fuse block) to my soon to be new fuse center....relying on the mystery negative that is currently working? I hope that makes sense.....it was a long day.
