Plum Quick experience
Hello friends, anybody have any experience with Plum Quick customer service? I have read and heard so many good things about them and my dealer highly recommend them (Dixie Custom Carts). I recently purchased a Grizzly II motor from them after a detailed phone conversation with my expectations, I live in the Texas hill Country. They suggested a torque motor. My custom shop also talked to them to make sure we meet all their needs to get top performance from the motor. The motor will only run 17 mph on flat land and 1 mph going up the hills around my house a golf cart community. These are paved street roads. We took the new Plum Quick motor back out and replaced with the motor from my old cart. The cart will now run 33 mph on flat land and 17 mph up the hills around my house. I have called Plum Quick 4 times and was told I have to talk to Robbie but I cant seen to get him to call me back? Dixie Custom Carts has also called and can't get a call back from them. Are they just that busy?

Re: Plum Quick experience
What motor do you have that runs 33mph?
17mph doesn't seem bad for a torque motor... |

Re: Plum Quick experience
I'm not talking for PQ but I have never had a issue with them. They have built every motor I have ran except one. I had it rebuilt by them though after a few years of running it. Robby stays very busy between PQ, and his two son's. He has been very busy here of late with all the drag racing records stuff.
Send him a e mail I'm sure he will get back with you. I don't know about the Grizzly II motor but it sounds like you ordered a monster torque motor. If so you want get much speed out of it. 17MPH is pretty good speed for that type of motor. |

Re: Plum Quick experience
1 MPH on a golf cart is very very slow. I would think something is not right but without knowing the cart are what is done to it who knows. A stock cart will run faster than that uphills.

I will gladly check the motor out if Mr. Harris sends it in for an inspection. However, he was told and sold a High torque motor.......not a speed motor. Yes, we stay very busy and Mr. Harris has called and has been told that this is in fact what he ordered and it was made very clear to him at the time of order that this is a High torque motor. As for the old cart motor that Mr. Harris put back in his cart and is running 33 mph flat and 17 mph up hills...........one question, why order a High Torque motor if you had a motor that did all this????? Hope this answers some questions....... Thanks.... |

Re: Plum Quick experience
First off let me start by saying I am the one that built this cart for my customer, I run a small custom golf cart shop and have used Plum Quick Bandit motors on other builds. Billy came to me wanting a electric cart that would out perform his old cart that was equipped with a Buggies Unlimited motor so I recommended he contact Plum Quick to see what they could do. After talking with them and giving them all the specs on the build they recommended the Grizzly II so that is what we ordered.
We borrowed this motor out of his old cart for testing purposes it was ordered from Buggies Unlimited and performs well, as stated earlier the goal of going with the plum quick motor was to build a cart that performed better than his old setup. |

Re: Plum Quick experience
I went through the entire setup and if something was wrong besides the motor when I swapped in the other motor the cart would not have performed the way it did
