Default 72v laundry list... exactly what is needed?

The most I would be able to get out of my 48v club car seems to be about 25mph (would like close to 35mph, no more than that). It's a 1998 series club car and I have it all stripped down. Batteries are from 12/2002 and they are still holding a charge. Voltage across the pack is 50.47 but I know they are on borrowed time, that's why I'm thinking upping the ante to 72v. So, what exactly do I need?

Here's what I found so far:
-6 12v batteries
-4 gauge cables
-controller (a 750amp curtis? programmable preferred)
-battery charger for 72v
-contactor (?? what is this?)
-PB-6 (pot-box? the throttle, right?)
-fuse block and 400A fuse (??)
-solenoid (any specific recommendations?)
-new motor or rework original by EMP
-disc brakes

It will have a 6" lift with 22" or 23" all-trails.

So what else am I missing?
Thanks in advance!

You don't need a controller with such a high amp capacity. As voltage goes up amp draw goes down. A controller like that should be used on electric cars and real extreme cart builds. Only a custom motor would need that kind of power. EMP don't/won't build one for that kind of power. A 72 volt 400-500 amp will do fine. The 72 volt Alltrax will cost 2 to 3 times LESS than that curtis.

Contactor and solenoid are one in the same. I prefer Czonka relays/contactor/solenoids but thats just me.

Disc brakes may cost as much as all the rest......But I would not want to be going 35 mph in a golf cart with out them..... Have a nice day!

You are not the first one to realize the importance of stopping AFTER the speed build was done (or planned). There is a thread here on front brakes. I think you can find it if you use the search. These carts were designed for about 15mph.max......so, you want to look at the front end too if you are going to go 35 mph IMO

Extractor I am a newb to cart mod, but I recently converted a 36 volt TXT series EZ-G0 to 48 volts, and in the 30 MPH club, and if I were to lift it and install bigger tire pretty sure I could get 35 out of it or close

The trick for me was the right motor/controller combo, and to a lessor degree battery selection. My set up is basically:

GE D298 Raptor Motor. At 48 volts is 9 HP non peak @ 5300 RPM
Alltrax 4855 500 amp controller
6 Trojan T-890 8 volt batteries.

It will bark the tires and lift the front wheels from a standing start. It comes off the starting line at 30 MPH, or at least feels like it. No problem with torque with standard wheels, infact according to the motor manufactue with my controller 30% more torque.
