Trojan battery specification ?
What %DoD are they using? I didn't find it listed.
When they show the T-145 with a 25a draw of 530 minutes is that 80% DoD or 100% as in dead? |

Re: Trojan battery specification ?
Problem with those test is as you know everyone uses diferrent controls ... So they can be modified to look a lot better than what they are...Bottom line in battery performance is lead = amp storage. The more lead the better the performance.

Re: Trojan battery specification ?
Well the ratings don’t mean a whole lot for cart people other than a general idea of capacity. Trojan list AH capacities at various discharge rates. Problem is none of them really apply to cart use.
For example the T-145 list AH capacity 5 hours of 215, and 20 hour rate of 260. Well at 5 hour discharge rate works out to a current drain of 43 amps, and 20 hour of 13 amps. Your cart pulls a lot more than that, so the AH rating is even lower. The other thing is you battery looses capacity over time, and charge/discharge cycles. So the capacities listed are for new batteries after a forming charge. But to answer your question it is 100%. |

Re: Trojan battery specification ?
Thanks for the reply. Was thinking those figures would be 100%.
I did read a post on this or another forum were someone said as a rule for a stock cart, divide the 20hr time by 2 and use those minutes for run time to stay above 80% DoD. |
