Voltage sag ???
Believe sag to take place under high amps or as DOD increases.
But is there sag when throttle is set for a lower voltage under high amps? As 48v from a 72v pack or 36v from a 48v pack. |

Re: Voltage sag ???
Pack voltage does not matter to the individual battery since current is the same in a series circuit. A battery in a 36V pack pushing 500 amps will drop to the same voltage as it would in a 72-volt pack at 500 amps. The difference is in the output; higher voltage equals higher wattages at same amps.

When you are only pulling 36v out of a 72v pack I believe the controller is still pulling 72v but only at 50% duty cycle. So if the voltage sags when at 100% duty cycle(72v@500amp x100% =36000watts) does it still sag at 50% duty cycle(72v@500amps x50% =18000watts. I guess it would sag but not as much. |

Re: Voltage sag ???
Charlie, you pretty much answered your own question; you pull half the watts your pack won't sag as much.
72V at 50% would average 250A if 100% equaled 500A. |
