Default IRS 'Frame up' build or other suggested starting point...

Howdy,
After driving a customer's BBB 72v dual ac motor'd Recoil iS (see sig) - I want to build something similar. Are there any kits for getting a front/rear IRS setup via any aftermarket vendors?

Is there an agreed upon 'best' IRS frame to use as a starting point? I'm willing to start from a bare frame.

I have been searching for a cheap easy way to do this for a few years now, I have not found a great starting point.

The best I have found so far would be a small rear or all wheel drive car setup. Something like a mazda miata. The down side is you can't mate a golf cart motor to it easily since most golf carts use the differential as the bearing for the open end of the motor.

I started bare and went here. It wasn't too hard to do.

Very nice work, Scotty. It looks like you have a belt drive and pulley for the rear axle. Are there two motors on your buggy? Does it take a long belt to reach the motor pulley? Good sized brakes and shocks.

Thanks guys, I guess it's good to know I didn't overlook a supplier. Sucks that there aren't any off the shelf options.

I suspect there is a common supplier as this guys supply-chain consulting gig at EZGO/BBB suggests: www.gforceconsulting.com/Success-Stories.html

I had hoped someone int a powersports parts/service area could chime in on IRS ATV spindles might work as a starting platform.

In the end I bought an abandoned 2011 Bad Boy Buggy with IRS (DC unfortunately) that was cheaper and less work that starting from scratch.

Nice work scotty - but still a solid axle.
