Aircraft Batteries
New to the forum, please be gentle.
Can any of the battery experts tell me if the batteries from our company jets could be used in carts with any benefit? We replace them yearly and capacity checks show most of the removed batteries are >95% rated capacity. Here is the specs from the type we use: 24 volt Type: Sealed Weight: 85 1 Hr (C1) 44 30 Min (2C) 70 60 sec/0 deg F (CCA) 600 Electrolyte: Not Needed |

Re: Aircraft Batteries
Not going to work out too good at all... Golf Cart batteries are not rated in CCA but honestly 600 CCA is in the range of a group 24 automotive battery and not very likely to enjoy the huge and long term amp draw demanded by carts...
But if they are free then experiment till your heart's content... |

Re: Aircraft Batteries
V x A =W
his battery at 24V has double the watts of a 12v and watts is the work out put better then a cart made battery set no but if free or scrap priced and replaced yearly it should work ok just donot ever full discharge or get too hot charging I do not like gell/sealed and would not expect them to last more then a year but free or dirt cheap is hard to beat |

Re: Aircraft Batteries
If you try them get 4 2 in parallel on each side then with the two packs hook them in series for 48 volt this will double the amp per hour .if you can fit 6 batteries hook three in parrallel on each side them hook the two packs in series for 48 volts,This should give you the same amp hour as a regular 6 volt battery
