Started Bad Boy Buggy XT Rebuild Today
This is my dad's 2010 Bad Boy XT. He bought it new and it has been a good work horse up till about 2 years ago. The 2nd set of batteries died (poor maintenance on our part) and it sat for 2 years. I finally brought it home from the ranch last weekend. It is full of rats nests, brown recluses and snake skins.
My plan is to tare it down and replace all wires, check everything and once I verify it is good to go put in 120-150AH Lithium batteries in. I am hoping by the time I get that far EVBatterycenter is shipping again. I have not been able to find a service manual for this cart so I am having to carefully map every wire. I even called Textron and they do not have service manuals for Bad Boys 2010 and older. I will update with pictures and progress. |

Re: Started Bad Boy Buggy XT Rebuild Today
So far things are going good. Both Motors turn when hooked up to a 12 volt battery. Broke posts off both Solenoids so that is my first expense $140 for the pair. Next will be full clean up.
Hoping the Sevcon Motor Controllers are good. I had to replace one about 3 years ago and it was Near $1000 |

Ouch......... $1000 would hurt. I wonder if you couldn't do some upgrading to a different system that was a bit more price friendly. I may be talking out my....... well you get the drift. Because I know nothing about electric carts in any way.
Good luck on the rebuild. You should have a nice one once you get it all sorted out. |

Could you rack your brain and tell me what this plug was for? I have it in my BBB that I just got and it’s not connected to anything. Trying to find out if something is missing.

That stuff is a pain in the a, eh Steve?
Looks good though. Again, a pain in the a to sand down though. You may want to finish with a thin layer of bondo. Jeff |
