Lithium Chargers

What are you using? I have Chevy volt modules, but no bms or charger yet. I really like the chargery BMS but not the charger. I like the idea of a high amperage onboard charger like a delta-q ic line.

I’m using the evbatterycenter.com 17amp 1200w charger. So far so good. And using the BMS24T From chargery.com. Pricy but I’m happy with it so far.

No they don’t. If I hadn’t bought the evbatterycenter charger first I definitely would have bought the chagery charge first since it does communicate with the BMS.

I went with the chargery bms and charger. A little overwhelming at first but once you spend a little time reading the manual online, it’s very user friendly!

I have the Zeva BMS and TC charger. They do talk via CAN bus. I’m happy with the setup so far.

i purchased the same EV battery center charger, and I'm looking hard at the Chargery BMS. how difficult was it to get these two to work together on your setup?

From what I’ve seen so far the EV Battery charger is quite intelligent. It will throttle back as necessary when voltages are met. I have yet to deplete my pack below 52v so I can’t speak for the whole charging range however charging from 52v the charger was putting out about 6 amps and as the battery got closer to 58v it was way less amps. Down to the point where it is at .5amps or less to get the batter to 58.8v. It came to a complete stop at 58.8v.i was amazed. As far as working with the Chargery BMS. They are independent of each other minus the safety relay that I have on order and yet to install. So far they haven’t had any conflicts. The BMSs job is to balance the cells more then anything else. Mine is set up to balance all the time. And it does a very good job of doing that. Of course moving that power from cell to cell all the time has its draw backs. My pack is loosing .15v per day sitting idle. At that rate it would still last about a year before I’d have to worry about topping the charge back up. I know that cart will be used way more regularly then that so I’m not to worried. My BMS is being powered from a separate 12v battery with a DC to DC step up 19v. And there should be any other load on the system. I’ll keep watching it and if anything changes I’ll repost.
