Re: Leaf module
Well assembling the pack is the easy part. Most people struggle with the BMS tap harness. Still cool that another option is available.
That terminal cover though..... lol. I wonder what the pricing is. |

You can get cheaper BMS units, but they all want to fully charge the lithium, Chargery lets you set the stop point so you can extend your pack life. Every other one I found that was programmable was way more money. |

What model Chargery has the BMS option on it? And, I'm likely mistaken .....or not quite educated enough, but my readings state that Leaf batteries are LMO\NMC. I don't see a Chargery charger that specifically states the charger will handle this type of battery. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! |

Re: Leaf module
The cathode is called lithium-manganese-oxide with nickel oxide (LiMn2O4 with LiNiO2) and the anode material is graphite.

Re: Leaf module
The poster board terminal cover is what gets me, and the fact it just sits in place 🤦*♂️. Seems like a false sense of security that’s more harm than good. At least bolt a piece of plexiglass over it like other BGW members have done. Otherwise his overall assembly of the pack doesn’t look terrible. I can see how those handles can be helpful for some depending on how they orient the pack in the cart. Definitely not winning any awards, but at least it doesn’t appear to be complete garbage. Real question is where is he sourcing inventory? If his packs are priced right I would consider buying one just for the simple fact he has the leaf modules. I also wonder if he only sells the “double” pack since the typical 7 module pack is a range increase of about 35% over lead acid batteries. Or at least that’s been my experience. |
