Heat shrink for wrenches?
Has anyone ever considered using heat shrink to insulate your wrenches or socket drive tools?
Coated wrenches for electrical work are expensive (not cheap!!) and I was brainstorming anything other than electrical tape. |

Re: Heat shrink for wrenches?
My safety protocol involved laying a towel (preferably dry...) across the lithium cells I wasn't working on. So if something dropped or touched the pack, it would have to make contact through the towel to make an arc.
Not the most expensive option, but it prevented any issues and I would have had an arc at least twice while working on the pack if the towel wasn't there. |

Haven't done it myself but looks like it might be an alternative. My dad did something similar with some of his tools 50 years ago.

I use plastic dip on the tools I use for the cart. I also put a old rubber floor map on top of the batteries when I'm working on them

Thanks....but all the credit goes to the fellows who said to buy it. And at like $10 for the "jar" that I got......it's a steal!!!
