Battery cable sizing
Now that I have my lift all sorted out and the new wheels and tires on and riding smoothly I'm going to start on the performance stuff and take the next steps to get ready for a controller and motor.
My cable questions are: 1. Are 2ga cables large enough for an Alltrax 500 and a PQ Executioner running 23" tires and possibly 27" in the future or would I benefit any stepping up to 1ga(or larger) cables? 2. My cart is a Sepex CC DS. The field wires are smaller than the rest of the cables. What size do I need to upgrade them to? 3. Since I have access to it I will be using Ancor marine tinned fine strand cable. The 2ga is 665 strand and the 1ga is 836. I assume this ok to use? |

Re: Battery cable sizing
The 2g cable with 600+ strands is perfect and all you will ever need.

Thanks scottyb!
How about the field wires? They look to be maybe 10ga now. |

Re: Battery cable sizing
Fresh primary 10g with soldered ends is as good as you can do for these wires. They are low amperage wires.
