Re: Brushless motors??
I didnt realize the AC system where brushless. Ya those are a little over priced I think.
They need to come up with a setup like the RC cars, Lipos and Brushless. 10X the power and much longer runtimes. |

Re: Brushless motors??
You can get a 200-300 AMP brushless controller for less than the cost of a stock controller. Its for R/C cars, helis etc. Point being the technoogy is there just no one has implemented it cheaply for a cart. You can buy a brushless heli motor for less than $10 so soon you should start seeing newer technology creep into the golf cart market. It HAS TO BE DONE. If nothing new comes out and things stay the same people get bored with it and move on.

550amp 72v controller(48-96v compatable), 53hp and approx 115lb-ft of torque The benifit to the AC system is that you get both maxumim torque and maxumim speed both out of one package. |

but on a serious note, the regular one they sell in the 2200$ range is very peppy, and i believe its around 18hp and 80lb-ft at 48v.. something like that. Really if your planning on spending around 1000-1400 for a DC motor conversion, the benefits of the AC im my view is worth the extra $ (the beneift of both extreme torque and speed).. but it is for the person who wants the best of the best avalabe, and smoke anyone they are around. Hi Performance golf cars is the company that supplies Zenn with their new AC drive NEV's.. shtty thing is they limit them to 25mph. but thats where the software comes in. and when you get to see where AC drive really shines. |

Re: Brushless motors??
Or you could just by a used E-Z-GO RXV. AC Drive with brushless motor. Only problem is that it is governed at less than 20 MPH
