Default 72 volt or 48 volt longer runtime?

All else the same, will a 72 volt system or 48 volt system give a longer runtime? (neglecting the extra weight in batteries with the 72 volt system)

Anyone have any numbers for their 72 volt system for lengths or times before chargers?

Mine will ride right at 20 miles on a charge. I can ride it pretty much all day at the beach. It's 6.5 miles one way to my house to Ocean Lakes campground and I ride it around inside before I come home too! That's running wide open for basically 13 miles up and back on the main roads.

Run time is determined by Amp Hour capacity of the battery system for a starting point. Most do not factor in discharge rate and the CORRECTION Factor and try to use the 20 hour discharge rating to figure time which is a error, huge error

Basically:

T = (AH/L) C

Where:

T = Time in hours
AH = Amp Hour rating of battery
L = Load in amps
C = Correction factor based on discharge rate, less than 1 down to .2 for heavy discharge rates for EV's

Ya but isn't there less load for a higher voltage system...meaning if both carts are going 20mph, the 72 volt cart will be using less load than the 48 volt cart (all else the same). Right?

I don't do math! I do riding time. I could care less what the battery label says. It is a good starting point but seat time is what I go by.
When I say riding it I mean riding it.

Yep. Most of us have been around the block to know that amp/hr tests are not all conducted the same and the results can be misconstrewed by the advertising division and whala..... Andy is correct; seat of the pants driving is the best judge of a system!
