Re: Galloway's Build
05, he said he used it this past weekend at the drag strip and had no prob running it all day on a charge. I know my Father in Law's batteries are going on years and his are still trucking along. But of course he isn't running a high/speed high tourqe setup. His is a 48v with gears. with a 36v motor I believe.

Re: Galloway's Build
A '93 will be a 36v resistor cart with a v-glide ... Nice simple carts.... the batteries in it are prolly on their last yr. Battery trays prolly need some repairs? These carts run great when boosted to 48v. Of course to do it right, you need a pb-6 and controller Really no different than my two 1989 conversions

Re: Galloway's Build
If you put all the late model stuff on it..... like single seat back and new style roof . Then you can't hardly tell it from an '04 THis pic is an 89 in a '03 body. On 20" tires and 48v she went 19mph with controller and 4ga

Re: Galloway's Build
Ya this will be a race cart. I will prob just run it stock at the Pageland races if I can make it then save up for about a year and do some major things too it.
So besides the battery tray, what other trouble spots should I look for? Ya I know about running 48v to it. I have a friend that is running 48v to his and then when he wants to make some money. He ties in to 12v deep cycle batteries into the system for drag time. hahaha. |

Re: Galloway's Build
Look at the delta tower for stuctural rust around the shock and steering box mounting ...... and cracks or frame breaks at the rear crossmember (Especially if there is any bumper damage) and front Cross Bar at the floor to cowl angle change....

Re: Galloway's Build
So pretty much look for cracked welds in the frame and all load carrying points, and Rust in bad places. hahaha.
I work on tractors and a partly certified weldor. ( I took the classes just didn't want to pay $1000 + dollars to get the cute little peices of paper since I just weld for myself.) He says he pulls a junior dragster around the drag strip with 3 adults on the cart so it sounds like it still has good power on the batteries. |
