36v into 72v and back into 36v
ok, my first question I have is this, If you have a 72v controller can you run it at 36v?
second is this. If you have a cart with vglide can you wire two 36v banks up in parallel and then when you want to sleeper drag wire it in series and hit the drag strip? here is my diagram. Sadly I don't have a cart just trying to get my ducks in a row so when I get the cart I am ready to rock. Last edited by galloway; 07-29-2009 at 09:03 AM.. Reason: fixed image. |

You can do this with 6 12v batteries .... You will find controllers out there rated for 36-72v

Re: 36v into 72v and back into 36v
Ok cool. The reason being is this.
The cart I am looking at is a 36v vglide. It might need new batteries in a year or two. But I am looking to go AC like garage built. So since it looks like I will have to replace batteries before I get my motor etc. I was looking for a way to have fun with just getting the batteries. But I wanted to break all the batteries in at the same time hence wiring the two banks of 36v. So with the vglide I will just have to behave till I get the new motor/controller. |

Re: 36v into 72v and back into 36v
You can drive it on 48v if you are mindful of the inherent heat problem .... just drive wot or nothing kinda? Many have done that, just know that it is not a cart you let the wife and kids drive because they WILL melt the V-glide possibly resulting in a run away cart situation....

Re: 36v into 72v and back into 36v
the only reason I would run it above 36v is to do the ngkra events. We might have a cart in time for Pageland, but not enough cash to do anything to it before the event, So I would just run in the totally stock class and just Hang out with GB like we did at BB09.
