Save your money for a real charger. That one will take forever and a day to charge a dead pack.

That one worked good on my lowrider with 6 12V batts --left it all night charging... if overnight charging doesnt bother why spend 200 more???

12 volt automotive batteries are made for quick charge/discharge. True deep cycle/golf cart batteries are not designed to quick charge/discharge. That charger will take twice as long to charge a set of golf cart batteries ran in series to make 72 volts. (most likely longer) 5-10 amps will charge an automotive type battery rather quickly but try to take 2 six volt deep cycle combined for 12 volts worth of batteries and charge it.....it will take a while longer to charge.

I don't care if you buy/use it or not, it's not my money. No doubt they may work fine for you. I'm simply trying to save other members their hard earned money and headache by providing facts.

I know full well what you said and the problem is that charger will not charge a completely dead 72 volt deep cycle golf cart battery pack overnight. A 36 volt 20-21 amp golf cart charger can take overnight to charge a 36 volt pack, what makes you think a 5/10 amp charger will charge a pack of double the capacity in the same amount of time? (I'm pretty sure it's 5 amps at 72 volts too which takes even longer.)

Not saying it won't "work".

new to carting starting to build a cart to ship to my home in the bahamas well im a boat capt. i operate a 62 ocean supersport with 1400 hp 3412 e cats for power these battery systems have an isolation switch called a guess switch. its a big 3position switch.there is a left bank right bank or off position in the boat and you loose a battery on any system generator or motor you can switch the guess switches and completely isolate the shorted or bad battery set and still crank your engines these switchs are the life blood of a boat you can get one switch and mount it next to your charging plug you will run to wires direct to each 36 volt bank then your power will run to the off position on the switch in then there is two power positions left bank 36 volts right bank thirty six. where the series splits you will need to put a isolation switch between the 3rd and 4th battery very neat clean i do not know the amperage ratings on the switches but they run 2.0 guage battery cables to them you can buy them at any marine store for around 30 to 50 bucks depending on weather you want the deluxe or the premium grade i will get back to you with a link to these types of switches

So, what's the problem with using two 36v charges on 72v? Just add another charge port under the seat for the 2nd 36v pack. So what if you have two charge ports. Its cheap, easy, and it solves the problem.

How much can/does it cost for a standard charge port?
