Default NAVITAS TSE1000 Controller -Exposed

NAVITAS TSE1000 - DSE1000 Controller

Had to repair my 48 volt, 1000 amp Navitas. Not sure what happened. The controller was "gifted" to me and the condition was unknown. Made all the connections and the controller would not boot or run diagnostics. It was going to cost $600 to rebuild the controller. I did it for free. Couple of resistors were fried, a cap and a burnt trace. I replaced all those components and hooked here back up and she's good to do. I ran the diagnostics and it showed good. (that doesn't always mean its good though)

This is a Model DSE1000-48

Same as TSE1000 excpet for software I believe. Its an OEM

Very cool, roady! I would guess that isn't a water tight unit, right?

It WAS before I took it apart. It took a while to dig it out of the silicon. When I go back together with the housing I'll seal it all up best I can. It was by far more sealed than an EZGO ITS controller.

That red/green wire is taking the place of the burnt trace. The trace was directly underneath the resistor that was damaged the worst. I left it hooked up for 30 minutes and no heat at all present on any of the components. The wire to the left on one pic is the temp sensor.

So, you repaired a burnt circuit on the PC board with a wire across the top of the components? Slick move.

Exactly. Its not in those pics but I routed the wire a little nicer and hot glued it down. The hot glue will come off a LOT easier than the silicon. When I seal it I will use clear silicon. Thats what was in it factory.

Building or REbuilding? I have never built one from scratch, although I have most of the conponents to do it. I have REbuilt 1 EZGO ITS box and works quite well. The other 2 didn't fair so well, 1 sorta worked, the other didn't do jack. (the first one didn't do jack). The second one, full on came in at about half throttle. I needed to change the gate resistor value...actually lower it to 72 ohms so I would have full throtle control.
The ITS in the pic has some diodes blown and some resistors burnt as well as a trace.

Trust me...it I hadn't worked on those I never would have taken the 1000 amp one apart. It was not big deal to fix.
