possble battery problems or possible charger problems?
hey guys, I have a Delta-Q on board charger with 6 8-volt Trojan T-875s
the cart has: 48v AC Motor Curtis 650 amp Controller The problem is when I punch it, the carts voltage drops down to around 33 volts. So I figured I had a bad cell in atleast one battery, well I tested them and here are the results: 1-6.6 then jumped down to 5.3 at the end 2-6.9 3-6.7 4-6.9 5-6.7 6-5.8 The weird thing is, is that battery 1 and 2 were fine at the beginning of the test and during the test...they just dropped down to 5.3 and 5.8 at the end of the test and they also tested OK when I put a tester on each of them. That is kind of throwing me off and is leading me to maybe suspect that the charger isnt charging the pack to an actual 100%. I know the pack should read about 50.9xxx volts at a true 100%, the most ive seen recently on the pack at the end of a charging is 50.4 volts. So could it possibly be that the charger isnt charging fully and overtime making the batteries drop down to 33 volts when I push the throttle? The batteries are less than a year old....maybe the charger isnt programmed for that model of battery??? |

Test them with a different meter! When the charger is plugged in, what output voltage do you read on the total battery pack? At each individual battery?

8v batteries should read 8.1 or above all the time ... Those readings are way TOO LOW
