Not sure on the ezgo but on a yamaha you have to have the axle gears flattened for the locker to catch more of the gear.

From what I have seen and heard the Plowman's posi are the only way to go. Yes there are other "friction" kits that are cheaper, but the word is they wear out quickly. And you don't need gobs of torque to see the benefit. If they had one for my model I would buy it in a second!

I have a a selectable locking rear in my ezgo cart but no plowmans upgrade and that is what you asked about.

How do you make or get a selectable rearend?
I've seen air lockers on 4x4's but have not heard of anything for a cart.

bigk. can you pm me a link to that web site. I have dealt with some short of positrack are limited slip with my carts over the past four years. First of all you don’t want a full locked out positrack differential in a golf cart {A family golf cart.} It takes away from the ability to maneuver it in tight places. Plus it also can become dangerous at high speeds if the cart has to turn. The wheelbase of a golf cart is to short. With this type of differential your back tires are now design to go straight. I started out with a simple stock ez-go differential. Which are set up to be a limited slip diff. With two harden washers & a aluminum spacer I was able to manipulate the distance under load that the limited slip differential would stay engaged.{ Positrack} once the load was released the one wheel would spin freely again. I also have the kit that came from BU. This kit is a good quality kit but it cant handle the torque from my high voltage AC carts. I am sure that any traction control kit coming from plowmans would be of top quality.

It's made by dana, all I had to do to get mine was buy a st480 but I assume it could be done to other rears cause they call it a bolt on module.
"Bolt-on module provides manual operation to lock/unlock the differential"

look at the model H-12 FNR. This is the rear used in most all of the ezgo 4 stroke carts with exception of the new kawasaki engine driven ones. I don't know what rears they use

Bigk looks like you have a nice set up going on there. I would add the kit .
It is easy enough to install. Once you remove the hubs. Look real close at the end of shaft next to the bearing. You will see a c-ring. It has to be removed on both sides. The rest is take it apart add the kit & put back Like you found it. It will help if you are able to take pic's as you do the tear down. Put don’t worry I will be here to walk you thru it. Good luck bigk.
