Field coil rewind
Ive decided to try and rewind the field coils on one of the motors ive had layin around...
my question is have any of you tried to do this? should i increase/decrease the size of the wire? and where can i get the wire... searched for it... not much luck i was even thinkin of tryin the 2 speed field seems to me like it would be a fun way to get the motor charicteristics i want or at least just to learn... and hay there might just be a video of the whole thing may even try my hand at armature banding..... now i just need to find the wire... |

Re: Field coil rewind
I found this for a different use (inductors) but its what you would want. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1182
9awg is the heaviest ive found in all my searching. You could double it up to create a heavier (about 6awg) cable. The stuff is tough though. You will really have to work with it. You might try emailing them to see if you can get less then a full roll. I did and was able to get 1 pound, about 25 feet. -Adam |

Re: Field coil rewind
You are going to add 5 turns to the original 6? Why not 6 and just double it? What are you basing this upon?
