I think Nate was saying "the Beast" was the strongest, highest torque motor.

I don't know if the Beast is the highest torque because I have not been able to test them all.... yet. I am testing a Beast right now though.

I'd put my D&D motor up against any beast motor. Nate know's this and knows what D&D told me before the Bonanza that year too!

I think Andy's D&D is not the ordinary D&D torque motor; it is 1/2 longer than a Beast (GE D-395). I would like to test one of these against the Beast in the same conditions.
To compare motors physically you need to measure the iron case only not the aluminum brush holder or front aluminum end bell (if motor has one). Then you need to measure the length and width of the brushes. |

Andy is that speed and tire size right; could ya say what the ratio is? Is this a StealthStalker or a special build low RPM 72volt motor? Is Nate saying it is 1/2 inch longer or 1/2 times longer? If its a secret...never mind. The reason Im asking is that in the specs posted for the Beast of 8hp/1600rpm@36v & 11.4hp/2300rpm@48v, the 1600 & 2300 are the RPMs at those HPs. So when this motor is only drawing 40~50amps the RPM is up around 3800 +/- at 48v and >5000 at 72v. Course thats assuming my thinking is right. |

Andy I checked my figures and see with 12.44 gears and 20inch tires the RPMs come out to ~4500.
My understanding is when an electronic controller is directed to deliever more voltage than a motor requires for the RPMs it is turning the controller turns the excess voltage into AMPs. Is this what is taking place? |
