charging 48, 60, 72 volts

Does anyone know if the schmacher charger that has leads to charge up 12 6 volt batteries is any good. I noticed the amp rating is only 10 which seems low to me. Would this be good as a battery maintainer? I am trying to find a decent inexpensive multi charger. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, Mike

I have heard the Schumacher 72V charger is decent. 10 amps are not going to fast charge but should be adequate for a 72V pack. It will take a little longer but probably give a more complete charge.

I have not used the Schumacher 72V charger myself but I have used Schumacher chargers and was quite impressed with them. I was able to turn a 12V Schumacher automotive charger with 100A starter boost into a 72V charger so I suspect they use a similar transformer.

I bought one of thier 12v automatic chargers a while back and liked it so much I bought another to keep at deer camp. It will charge small(ATV) batt, or reg. 12v, or 12v deep cycle. It has a 75amp start mode and dual rate charging modes. It will read voltage and charge %. I wish it had a 6v mode to charge my trail camera batteries.

Batteries as in more than one..... hmmm.
I am not familiar with these batteries and this may not work but if you could hook two of them in series (pos to neg) you could charge them on the 12V setting. If this is possible I need to give some details.

The 6v batteries in my trail cameras are like lantern batteries. I never thought to hook them into a series. Good idea.

Also, i ordered my batteries today. Man prices have jumped. Last fall I was quoted $57 each, now $68 each. This is for the exide 6v GC battery. I ordered 10 of them. I'll pick them up next Friday(15th) and install over that weekend. ZOOM ZOOM
