Too good to be true?
Check out this link. After a little research I found out Logisystems rebuilds Curtis controllers.
Are these any good? http://item.express.ebay.com/ws/eBay...M_SIMILAR_LINK |

Re: Too good to be true?
Yes, they came recommended to me by 'thecartfixer'. The one you linked us to is rated 700 amps 48 volts. In the words of others " Do not put more than 48 volts to this controller" So if you are looking to 72v your cart keep looking.
For most guys the 480 will suffice in a 48v cart and it is $275 delivered on eBay. I just received it and am planning on installing next week to complete the CC 36 coil > 48v controller conversion. |

Re: Too good to be true?
When upgrading a cart make sure you have the right info. The differant cart manufactures use differant Pot boxes for the controller's so make sure you get the right stuff.
Cart using 0-5K ohm potentiometer 48 Volts No additional upgrades required for stock motor This sounds like it's for a Ezgo setup. You need to know this for it to work with the rest of the components in the cart you have. |

Re: Too good to be true?
I just e-mailed the vendor on ebay inquiring if they were rebuilt Curtis controllers. She said that they were not. I understand that you need a 0-5k potentiometer for this application. Do you also need a solenolid. If so, where does it fit in the circuit?

Re: Too good to be true?
Now that I found the 700 amp controller for $320. Do you think that I can get enough torque out of a speed motor by using such a large controller?
I checked with Logisystems and they do make a 48v-72v(700 amp) controller but the price goes way up to $535. So I'm thinking of staying in the 48v range with their 700 amp 48v controller, and putting maximum amperage into a speed motor to get increased torque. What do you think? |
