Default I thing yall are missing the boat on cables

I see that the welding cable phrase thrown around.. Im a welder but also have a more knowledge of something better

Car Stereo competition cables.. They are higher quality finer strains and lower resistance. My ideal setup is 4 gauge between batteries and either 2 gauge or larger from pack on to solenoid and motor..

I suggest you stick with something that has a fuel and acid resistant jacket ....

Your not going to see any difference between a 4 g welding cable VS those amp cables....other than price. This has been brought up many times in the past, if you want to spend the extra money thats your money but the best thing going is welding cable.

What are you some kinda know it all on welding cable? Sunking says it is illegal to use welding cable in a cave. If I use welding cable on my cart can I legally drive it in a cave?

I got some of this wire on EBay cheaper by buying a stereo cabling kit. The 4ga wire, though, has the physical dimensions of 6ga. I don't know how they get away with marking it 4ga (except that it compares to 4ga welding cable amp capacity, because if the multi-strand count). The strands were so flimsy that cutting through the insulation and even gently nicking a strand it immediately broke so you must be very careful stripping to add connectors. The insulation is clear and when you look through it to the strands they are magnified, how clever!
I still have a few runs of this cable in my cart but most is 4ga or 2ga welding cable as BGW members suggested.

Thats Ebay crap. Not such as I linked too. The quality stuff is made to live under the hood of a car. I have a 4 gauge power cable running the full length of my work truck that powers a Tommy Lift. Its been there for 8 years

I've looked at some of the better quality car stereo stuff, and it sure does look nice and should function great, on a very nice show cart. The down side to me, is that I have a fairly plain cart, and the black cables are more economical for my application.
Ideally I would purchase and form up some Eriflex flexibars to go between my batteries, as I would look neat, and handle more power than most any cable that would fit.
