controller suggestions...cant decide
ok guys, I am getting a new controller to pair up with a 48v EZGO series and a Plum Quick Assassin (reworked for more torque than speed)
the choices are between an Alltrax 500 amp and a Curtis 700 amp. I know the 700 amp is going to of course allow more amps to flow BUT the question is..will it let the amps flow quick enough? it would be nice if this cart would do wheelies. another question is...is the assassin going to pull more than 500 amps (meaning is a controller over 500 amps needed to allow the maximum flow). The alltrax will be programmable and the Curtis does have some adjustable settings but I am not sure if it will allow the amps to flow fast enough to pull the wheels off of the ground..hence the reason why i am asking which would yall prefer??? |

Quote:
05 EZGO PDS - D&D Motor - DCX500 - 48v - #1 battery wires = Big time wheelies!!! I have no problem standing it on the bumper. It can climb any hill, it will even climb straight up the wall In the never ending persuit of more power I recently spoke with D&D and they recommended the Curtis 1268 over the DCX-500. Signifigantly more power, torque, regen, and programability. However, I have not had a chance to investigate the 1268 for myself. |

Re: controller suggestions...cant decide
I can change the potentiometer from 0.5 seconds to 5 seconds on the GE....would that be the same as the "ramp up rate" that alltrax has??

Call Altrax and find out :)
They are good guys(the guys from altrax) I met them at Buggie Bonanza last year. They will answer anything you can throw at them. I hope this helps Galloway |
