Battery model question

I need to replace my 2003 6 6volt Trojans. I will be going to 8 6volts with two in the bag well. I chose 8 6volts because I read here that this will fully utilize my 8hp motor @ 1600 rpms and 700amp Alltrax controller. My main use for the cart is off road, up and down hills with very little to no mud. My goals are to maximize my set up with the best battery model and get the most run time possible. My tires are 20x10x8’s. I am staying with this size because, again, I have read here that each step up in tire diameter is a loss in torque. My question is not what brand, but what model from these three brands: Trojan, Us Battery, and Crown. I have researched many threads and based on time in the battery game, battery weight, and intended use I have whittled my choices down to these three. So those of you that can decipher the battery specs within brands please guide me to a choice from each brand. I have no allegiance to any brand. Availability, price, and comments from this thread will determine the brand. Thanks now to all who comment with you professional knowledge.

First, you CAN go with a bigger tire because that motor that turns 8HP at 36 volts will be turning in the 11 HP range at 48 Volts, so don't hesitate to go to a tire in the 22-25 inch size for better ground clearance on those trails.

Secondly I am upset that you left out Interstate Batteries as their GC2 battery (black with a green top) is on par with the T125 and T145 battery from Trojan and cost ALOT less than either of those. However, since my choices are limited to those 3 manufacturers, I would reccommend the Trojan T-125. By far they are probably the second most expensive of your choices, but cost to usage they are going to be the best choice.

Full River Battery is also doing some really great things with their AGM batteries and have been bringing the cost per battery down to a more managable price point. If you wanted a maintenence free battery I would highly reccommend looking them up.....

I have a crown dealer down here near me in TN that I have been talking too. The batteries sound on par with the Trojans. Then I talked to the Club Car dealer here in Knoxville and He said Club Car is doing trails with Crown to start buying batteries from them. So bc I can get a better deal on the Crowns that is who I am picking.

I apologize Rabbit, I am sorry. Obviously I have not done enough research on my battery quest. I will look at the GC2 battery. I looked at the Fullriver website and they warrant further investigation. I am checking dealer locations and prices from the recommendations I receive. I live in Western MD so battery prices will probably be higher compared to what other members find, plus availability close to me might be an issue also. I will continue to update when I can make some phone calls on Monday.

After many hours of phone and computer time I have narrowed my search down to Crown and US Battery based on price and availability. Here is what I can purchase and the lowest individual battery price I could find. I can get these from Harris Battery, Boswell, PA Regional Warehouse. It is an hour drive from my home. Rabbit, I looked at the GC2 and the best I could do was $166 for the HD and $176 for the XHD.

CR225-$104 / 225 20hr amp rate / 115 min at 75 amps / 63 lbs / 10.25 x 7.13 x 10.75
CR245-$128 / 245 20hr amp rate / 145 min at 75 amps / 73 lbs / 10.25 x 7.13 x 11.50

US Battery
US2200-$106 / 232 20hr amp rate / 122 min at 75 amps / 63 lbs / 10.25 x 7.125 x 11.25
US125xc-$124 / 242 20hr amp rate / 140 min at 75 amps / 67 lbs / 10.25 x 7.125 x 11.25

By looking at the numbers it seems the CR225 and US 2200 spec closely as do the CR245 and the US125xc. Here is where I need more input:

1. Does anyone have some real world application with any of these batteries relevant to what I am looking for (off road, up and down hills, very little to no mud to maximize my set up of 8hp motor @ 1600 rpms with 700amp Alltrax controller)?

2. Am I correct in thinking that the controller/motor will perform the same with any of these batteries at 48v?

3. Do the minutes at 75 amps determine longest run time based on these specs? I understand outside variables affect run time, I mean laboratory theory only.

4. Basically, in anyone’s opinion, are the cr245 and the us125 worth the extra $144-$192 for 8 batteries?

CR225 = $832 / CR245 = $1024 / US2200 = $848 / US125 =$992
