Default Add two more 6v batteries

I wish to add two more US2200 to my 1996 medalist 36volt (OEM 2.5 hp motor)

A. Want to increase speed & torgue ? Currently 14.5 on flats (GPS)

B. OEM EZGO controller is a •250-amp, 5-pin controller
Q. Would I need to upgrade the speed controller (due to added voltage) above the OEM 250 volts (?)

C. Would I have to upgrade Fwd/Rev switch to cover added volts?

D.Would I have to purchase a new 48 volt battery charger ? (i'm guessing yes here) nutz.

That's it for now.
Thanks.

You will need to upgrade the controller and the solenoid to handle the increased voltage (36 to 48v)

You should also replace all the drive system cables with 2 or 4g cable depending upon what size controller you go with, and beef up the F&R to handle the increased amperage.

You can charge with a 36v and a 12v charger or a 48v charger.

Thanks Scotty.

Great idea on the charge approach... not ready for a new charger also just yet.

Think a 400 amp controller will do with this 48v upgrade?
Do they make a 48v selonoid or just a higher amp one?

..and yes 4ga wire is being completed.

400 AMp is the highest reccommended without doing a motor upgrade as well.

Yes, they make 48v solenoids.

I'm sure Scotty can assist you with all your parts needs......

No need to separate batteries. Just be sure charging wires for 36 volt charger are wired to the first 6 batteries and the 12 volt charger to the last two. Correctly wired, the 36v charger will not "see" the last 2 batteries.

This is how I do mine. About once a month or so, I only use the 12V charger - nothing else attached - and charge two batteries at a time to 12v. Seems to keep my pack a little more equalized that way. Not sure if it helps or not, but makes me feel better.

Trying to decide on ScottyB's 48v charger now - my charger probably will see some rough usage

Lord help me if Mrs. Lizard Leg decide's to look at the "play" account
