Talking 72 Volt Conversion

Finally getting this project done

48v-72v 800 amp logisytems controller
6-12v Trojans
Delta-q 72v charger

Got pretty much everything I need. Got to figure out battery cable lengths after batteries are in cart so Scottyb can make me some cables.

Batteries. Thanks plumquick for the batteries!

Old batteries out

Moving f/r switch and controller in between front and rear seat

Making new battery tray

I havent welded the tray yet. Just getting all the pieces and mocking it up. Its going to have supports for all the batteries,

MORE TO COME!!

1st question lol- Do you think I need to run braces for the 5 batteries in front or do you think the 1 inch lip front and rear is enough to support them? Its 1/8" angle iron.
Thanks

never mind I am a idiot lol. Im just gonna run a piece of flat bar the length of the tray centered so all the batteries have a bit more support.

I'm sure it is, Get a 10 pound spool of wire and you won't have that problem for a couple of years

I know what you mean, I have ran threw 4 pounds in 2 weeks. I have a smaller welder and can only put on 2 pound spools.

Chevy,

Looking good so far on the conversion. What are you going to use for a hold down on these bad boys?!?!?

hey thanks man. I havent realy thought of that yet. I think ill eventually make one big bar that runs across the top of them.

Got more welding wire and a bit more angle iron and some undercoating rubberized spray paint. Gonna go finish welding it up later. Then drink some cold ones and paint it
