the beast motor
the local cart builder that i am thinking about going to has a "beast package" that i THINK is the same power package thats for sell as an upgrade on the beast cart's actual web site. it comes with the motor, controller, charge indicator meter and several other things. its an 11 or 12 hp GE motor.
is this a regen motor? if so, is this the type of motor that everyone says is not good for creeping around? would an added fan blowing on the controller at all times help? thanks. |

Re: the beast motor
I found it on plum quick. the one i am talking about is not the same motor in the beast hunting carts. they just share the same name. The motor i will be getting is called the "beast" on plum quick and it is a GE 11hp series motor. It has high torque and raises mph just a little.

Re: the beast motor
Why not just get the cart with the stock motor and send it to plum quick for a rebuild? Save a couple of hundred bucks... Check the site sponsors for a new controller.
If you have minimal mechanical skills, it will be very easy for you to build your own "beast" and save big bucks. Just a thought. |

Re: the beast motor
i never considered that because i was not aware it was possible. I guess i assumed they were completely different animals. I need to research this. The package which includes that motor with a 650 amp controller, cables, solenoid, and a dash mounted charge meter is $1300. Does that sound like a good price? Thanks for the recommendation.

Re: the beast motor
How big of a controller is compatable with that motor without having to worry about the motor getting excessively hot?
