The need for speed
Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I have a question.
Some dick at the campground keeps wanting to race me for "pinks" as he puts it. Now I have a 1997 EZGO TXT 36v "series" cart, lifted with 22 inch tires and a rear seat. Needless to say it is slow. I need speed. I know speed cost money and I'm willing to put something into this cart so what do I need to get the most out of this cart? I really don't want a gas cart and I want to shut him up with the cart I have. He has a stock lifted gas club car. Thanks in advance for any and all replies. |

Re: The need for speed
OooH, this is going to be fun!
48V conversion (new batts) 500 Amp Alltrax controller (or bigger) Plumquick Assassin motor 2 AWG Cables A good Helmet And place to park your new gas Club Car! You're looking at about 2K, but just think of what you'll get back when you sell the ClubCar Not to mention the look on his face when you pull the front wheels up off the ground while leaving him in a cloud of dust! That's just how I would do it. Welcome to BGW |

Re: The need for speed
Bump it to 48v, 400a controller, HD solenoid and cables, HD F/R cam, and a Plum Quick motor.
Oh, and a rear view mirror so you can see him crying. |

be sure your front end is nice and tight, speed is great but control-ability is a pretty nice thing to have. passing cars on the freeway is nice but not when you start to wobble and hit a tree or flip |

Re: The need for speed
All great ideas. What kind of speeds are we talking? Has anyone heard of an EMP Motor? It's been said that I can get about 25mph with just a motor swap. Thoughts?

Re: The need for speed
A high speed motor will sacrifice torque.

Re: The need for speed
You may be better off talking to Plumquick and telling them what you are wanting to do. They can build what you want. You will still need a controller to feed enough amps, if you really are racing for "pinks" better to spend a few extra dollars and not loose your ride.
