switching from 48v to 64v or 72v...questions...

I have a 2001 club car 48v (6 x 8 ) series cart. I'm turning it into a hunting cart. I want to add a couple more batteries, into the bag location, but I'm not sure what to switch it to.
Should I go to a 64v or a 72v system?
I plan on upgrading all the wires and switches. I'm just wondering if the extra battery to make it a 72v will be a noticable dif. in performance. Is it worth it?
I plan on adding a flip rear seat so I'm wondering about weight issues. I have a jakes 6" lift with 22x11x10 tires on the way.
What are the pros and cons of going 64v -vs- 72v, or even switching away from the 48v system? I have time before I have to decide but I'm looking for info. Thanx in advance.

Anyone?? Any input on benefits from going to a 64v or a 72v set up? Any downfalls from doing so?

64v is an unusual combination and it will be difficult to charge your batteries.
You could go to 72v and change your batteries to 6x12v and get a 72v controller and charger.
If you maintain 48v your upgrades would likely be a larger controller, HD solenoid and HD cables.

Is going to 72 volts a noticable increase? Heck yea! If you want torque and added speed. I took my 72 volt cart every where the 48 volt 4 wheel drive guy's went back this summer. There is no subsitute for voltage if done right.

Controllers and directional switching gets expensive at 72v. Even at 60v (48+12=60) you still have to install 72v gear. But you could charge with 48v + a 12v charger....... it will be a performance increase but so would dropping a 36v motor in your 48v cart for a heck of a lot less money and hassle.

Dropping a 36 volt motor in a 48 volt cart want even come close to what a 72 volt cart will do. The cost is way less for sure, but speed and torque want be close.
I have put many PQ 36 volt motors in 48 volt carts and none of them will pull the front wheels off the ground like 72 volts will, given everything else is equal.
Same rear gears and amp controllers and setting's.
The cart in the video has a stock E-Z-GO rear end nothing has been done to it and I climbed everything they did and had more top end then they did.
Oh yea they had front wheels pulling to.

Agreed, ...... I'm not trying to rain on your parade but, most guys don't hunt with their front wheels off the ground or at top speed?

I agree, but they want torque and that's why I used that as a example. I also know that 95% of the guy's who use these carts for hunting like to go fast when they can.
Most don't want to spend the money though. Most people want a magic part to do it.

Def. food for thought. I'm a newb at the cart scene so....go easy on me...lol. 72v sounds like the route I'd like to go....eventually. What kind of prices are we talking about to switch to a 72v system?
