Default Alltrax SPM question

I changed my controller on the cart in my sig from a 700 fsip to a 400 spm and i lost a ton of torque and top speed. I have reprogrammed it every way possible with no luck. It doesnt have the neck snapping power my FSIP did has anyone else noticed this if they changed to a SPM. Thanks for the help.

Im sure your looking at i went from a 700 to a 400 and yall are saying thats it but Alltrax claims their 400 is actually a 480 peak and 280 continous and i have heard people say FSIP may be pencil whipping their numbers bad. If the FSIP is actually 700 then that explains the torque but what about the top speed?

It almost feels like the SPM eases into the power it takes off real smooth.

I think you have answered your own question. You have lost torque.
Have you set the throttle rate and pattern in the SPM software? May be you could post some screen shots of your controller programming or something besides saying I've tried everything.
This new program is very different from the old one, isn't it?

Higher the amp the more torque you get. The top end want change except you get there faster.

Voltage are a high speed motor are rear end gears are all you can do to gain speed.
A little taller tire will help maybe a little.

Scotty i will try and post some pics. I have never had an old alltrax to know what the old software was like but the new stuff is pretty cool. I have been on the phone with alltrax trying to get it set and it still doesnt have the torque. I only got rid of the FSIP because i am going over to 72v i just hooked it up to 48 for the mardi gras weekend because i wouldnt have time to do all the fab for my 72v build.

Andy. I have a plum quick assasin and i plan a gear swap when i go to 72v. why when i go to 72 all i need is a 400 amp controller because thats the biggest they make? Will i get the torque back i lost?

They're coming out with a 600 or 650 amp 72v SPM, they just don't have it out yet.

Wink Re: Alltrax SPM question

72 volts is good.
Rear end swap is going to take even more torque away from it. Depending on which gear set you go with.

From my experances with the Alltrax controllers. If it's a 48-72 volt controller it want perform near as good on 48 as it will on 72.

My monster cart is 72 volts and with it on 1/2 speed which is 36 volts it will barely go. You maybe fine once it goes to full 72 volts.

Will the 600 and 650 be over kill on 72 volts? EV Drives said that when you go up in voltage you can drop the amps of your controller is this true?
