Might have been alright? Were the contacts silver? What was the peak amps? Here is one from a Site Sponsor that you will never replace again.

scottyb, the info cartzone gives on that solenoid is very limited and it seems very similar to this one at 20 bucks cheaper.

So long as the contacts are silver and the peak is 600a with a constant rating of 200a u are good to go provided your controller is not bigger than 600a.

I'm not sure if anyone answered his question on capacitors.

100uf reads "100 microfarads", microfarads being a units of measure for capacitors, kinda like what ohms is for resistors.

Something you should know about caps..., they block dc and pass ac, which makes them perfect for removing noise from your signal. Depending on the application they can also charge/discharge, which makes the big ones really dangerous, like the ones on you AC condenser, and bon't touch that little red plug on the old TV tubes.

I need some help with this part, but I think the cap on the solenoid is used to lock it either hi/lo (on/off), so the switch doesn't chatter.

Question Re: 48v HD solenoid

Wire it like the other one. Guy's there nothing differant about a 36, 48, 72, 200 volt solenoid. They all wire the same. + going in - coming out. The only differance is how many batteries it needs to operate with.
The terminals don't care which one is + are - unless they have the built in diode already then they will be marked.
