Bad Boy Buggie Question
Hi everyone, new member here. I just purchased the Bad Boy Buggie for use around the property and I have a question that I figured some of you guys might have some info on.
Is there anyone making some electric lockers that can be installedn like you can do with trucks? Also, I have a new buggie, which for some reason is now offered in 4x4 only. They used to be 2x4 and 4x4 selectable with a dash switch. With 4x4 only it is not stable at high speeds and the turn radius is hampered. Does anyone know if I can get this thing modified with a push button to switch between 2x4 and 4x4? |

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Question
Wire a kill switch before the front motor, so when you want 2wd just flick the switch off.
I dont know how the Bad Boy Buggies work so this may not work if the motor does not have some sort of clutch to disingage the motor from the axles, so if the motor does not have some sort of releasing clutch the motor will put up a resistance, then you might as well leave it in 4wd |

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Question
The first Bad Boys I saw were a stock 2wd; they put in a converted stock rear end (with motor attached) with added CV joints in place of the factory front axle It was powered by its own 12 volt battery placed under the front console. They had a foot button on the floor which activated the front drive motor. I don't know how the charge setup was, probably 48 volt. I think now they have a drive shaft setup coming from the single rear motor.

The 4X4's have 2 SEPEX motors, 1 front, 1 rear. The Bad Boy LT is a 2 wheel drive model.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Question
I have found out with bad boy that they wont sell you any parts, you either have to be a dealer or go back to a dealer for anything.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Question
Can you buy that whole front axle setup from anyone? like the vendor who sells them to bad kid? If gearing was right I wouldn't mind dropping one in mine. Do the motors each have less horsepower than 1 motor cart since they are both running full time to power the cart?? If not looks like run time would be pretty short. I heard run time was a real issue with the earlier carts.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Question
The motors have to be matched and i know 2 people that have them and they say that they are ok. I looked at one last year and it needed parts and I could not buy them, had to go to a dealer.

I always wanted to put their kind of front end on the front of a gas cart. That way you have the unlimted range in gas mode, quiet neighborhood cruising or for hunters in electric mode, and 4wd when you switch them both on. YA BEAT THAT RHINO I only wish someone would tell me how to make some cv axles to go in a stock ezgo electric rear end. This is the part that stumps me otherwise I would have already built a cool 4x4 hybrid. |

I am a ezgo/yamaha dealer and i have worked on a few BBB. I have worked on the earlier and later ones and i have to say the are PURE JUNK. BBB will not warranty anything. I have to buy parts from another dealer. Dealers are so far and few between it is useless. I wont work on them anymore for that reason. I would rather take a ezgo and convert it 4wd to save 750 pound of wasted idea and go anywhere the BBB will go. This is just my opinion |
