Default My 36v PDS

I posted this in the EZ go and didnt get any responses yet. I hope for a little input.

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-36v-pds.html

I have a 36V PDS, I am starting out with 2 gauge wire, this is the cheap upgrade. I am going to eventually go with the 72v system switchable down to 36v for the kids. Would I be safe to change the controller to one that will handle the 72v next?

I hope to change the motor and batteries both at the same time but that will probably happen last.

On a seperate note, will there be any gain to converting to series during this process.

I will admit to the fact I am strictly a novice here.

It is lifted 5" I mainly run it on hilly ground, with occasional offroading. Would just making it 48v be better?

There are benefits to either system, PDS, Series, 48v, 72v. And there are $ costs associated with each voltage bracket.
Most people are happy with the stock drive system (PDS or Series) and 48 volts. The cost is reasonable.

Wink Re: My 36v PDS

You starting out with a PDS cart is a benifit!

Changing it over to 72 volts may prove it not to be though. Not many choices out there for PDS carts at 72 volts. There are some components out there but it would be cheaper in the long run I think to go series. Hopefully by the time you swap the PDS stuff will have gained ground on components for 72 volts, maybe!

Cool Re: My 36v PDS

If you go to 48 volts it will require a controller, charger and solenoid upgrade but it would be a good one to think about. The motor should be good on 48.
Call Robby at PQ and see what he suggest's he can build u a motor to handle anything. That's what I do!
