I just got my d&d 170-004-0002A, supposedly 80ft/lbs give or take. This will be ran by a 700amp 72 volt alltrax. Should get me pretty close to pulling the front wheels off the ground, running 27x10x12 swamplites. I have all the parts in now just need to put it all together. I also have a d380 which will be ran by the same controller, I will post performance updates on both setups.

If you can't get the front wheels off the ground with 72 volts and 700 amps using either motor there is something wrong.
I am not familiar with the D&D motor but 80 ft lbs is more than enough torque and I can pull the front wheels on 60V with 27" mudlites with my D-380. Be sure to write on the forum if you don't get some air under those front wheels so we can diagnose! |

Alltrax DCX 500A Controllers are running ~$600, +shipping. You may be able to find one on ebay for less, but you don't get a warranty with those ones.

Sorry for the misinformation, I said altrax and meant logisystems. With the 48 volt controller I do not pick the front wheels off the ground because it ramps slowly. I've yet to find something it can't climb though. I am going to use the 72 volt controller with the d380 on a long travel front end and 28inch tsl super swampers on 14 inch wheels. This is how she is looking now, more pictures to come.

cway,
You are reading my mind. I am currently running 700 logisystems-48v, D-380, Jakes 6" spindle/22"x10"x11.5" all terrains. My next step is to get a long travel, 72v controller, and 2-3 more 8v batts. Then regearing, front discbrakes, and of course bigger tires! Let me know how it all goes. Good Luck! |

This is a stupid question, but do they make controllers that are made for more than 72 volts?
