Power & Meter Reading
I have recently purchased a 2008 Ez-Go from a good friend at a steal. He recently replaced the batteries and cables (June 2012), with 6 new American 220AmHrs. Connections are tight and the terminals are clean, voltage per battery falls in spec. I have not used a gravity meter yet. I recently installed a LED battery meter. Meter appears to be functioning properly, however, during a recent trip through the neighborhood power dropped to what felt like 50% out of now where, meter was down to the 4th bar. We were stopped at a Stop Sign and when we resumed the power was gone. Flat land, good weather, myself and 2 small rug rats. The cart powered us home. Upon return the cables were cool to the touch. Not sure what to check next.

Re: Power & Meter Reading
Check the batteries with a hand held digital voltmeter. Make sure they are all even. You can post your findings here if you want us to help you analyze them. Also you want to check for a full charge in the pack 12 hours after the charger has finished. So post that info too.

Just pulled it off the charger (Ez-Go Powerwise QE). Here are the voltages after 12+ charge, in wiring order: 1:6.32, 2:6.31, 3:6.32, 4: 6.32, 5: 6.31, & 6: 6.30, total bank 37.9.

Re: Power & Meter Reading
Fully chargered after sitting for 6 hrs after taking it off the charger without being rode they should read 38.22 @ 100% charge.
Each battery should be 6.37 @ 100% charge. This is newer batteries depending on how old they are will detirmine how they read. Look on the battery terminal's and see if there is a date code on them. Looks like F12 for June 2012 Did you let the charger kick off are did you take it off charger after 12 hrs.? |

Re: Power & Meter Reading
Fresh off a 12 hour charge? The results are 90% of what they should read 12 hours AFTER the charge. ... you may have a battery or a charger problem here.

Re: Power & Meter Reading
2 hours off the charger the voltage increased in each battery showing 6.38(avg) with an overall voltage of 38.8. Charger kicked off by it's self, indicating a full charge.
