Radio Free EZGO
Didn't know where to put this thread,I hope someone has had this problem and can tell me where to go with it cause I'm lost...Have 2 carts, both EZGO PDS that I converted to 48 v,They both have radios, both have key activated 30 amp converters. When on normal FM station if you put head lights on volume will drop and radio signal becomes staticy.the converter is wired to a pair of bus bars both + and - 12volt.I thought voltage drop but the drop is only a tenth of a volt.I put the radio to an independent 12 V batt it still does it when the head lights come on.Has to be inter fearing with the radio signal volume will not drop with a CD or I POD.Anybody have any ideas Thanx Dave

Re: Radio Free EZGO
Im going to guess it's something to do with your Hot wire going to your head lights being to close to your antenna wire run the head light wire in some metal flex conduit to shield it when passing your antenna I had this same problem with a gate opener they use radio signal for the remote opener and I had a hot with passing to close to the antenna wire on the gate opener, I ran the hot and ground in the metal conduit and fixed it. Hope this helps

Re: Radio Free EZGO
sounds like the 30 amp converters has something to do with this, unhook the converter, and wire the radio to the batteries and see if it still does it,

Re: Radio Free EZGO
The radio's made today are more senitive to interferances than the older ones. I worked on my buddies at the beach several times rewiring it and trying all the little differances to get it to work better but finally he bougght a new radio and it's fine now.
