Default Motor help please

I just got my 91 Marathon running with a Curtis 400a controller, 36v, f/r contactor, 1/0 cables threw out. I got a good deal on a new GE D295 motor to replace my stock 2hp 2800 rpm motor. I like the speed I am getting out of this motor 23mph but the torque has suffered. I can get a AMD A95-4005a but was wondering if it would help my torque and not totally kill my speed. Just looking for around 17-18 mph. Trying to keep this on a budget as much as possable so i can finish the rest of my build. Thx!!

Wink Re: Motor help please

You can have the orignal motor done by PQ and it should do what u want. About 18MPH on level ground but should put some torque back under it.

Thanks man. Slowly but surely it's getting there. Scuff plates turned out good with a little bumper paint.

How old is your batterys? I'd dump another 12 volts too it and you will see big increase in torque

^^^^^^ what he said, so they say 33% increase in torque should make up for your loss

I was thinking about doing a 24v boost set up. That way I won't have to change my controller and charger out and will have the extra when needed. I have everything I need to do the boost but the diodes and am not sure what diodes I need. Anyone know what diodes are needed?
