Monster EZGO Does Wheelies >>>
Ok, the basic install is completed and just took her for a quick spin. There is no problem pulling those huge 27s off the ground with a mild ramp rate. Still need to wire in the Delta-Q QuiQ 48V onboard charger, new voltage reducer, and the battery monitoring system. Tomorrow night after work I will detail what I've done so far and add some pictures. How cool is it to ride down the road programming your golf cart with a laptop
A quick recap: 48v (added 2 batteries) $140 (Sams Club) D & D 11.6HP 80ft/lbs of torque $551 (D & D) Alltrax DCX 500A Controller $420 (EV Drives) 2 gauge cables $30 (Ebay) HD 400A 48v Solenoid $85 (Electric Vehices USA) = Wheelies |

Re: Monster EZGO Does Wheelies >>>
can you explain how you completed the process. What about a charger? Where did you put the 2 extra batteries? Can you post or e-mail me some pics. Thanks

In his post he mentioned the Delta-Q QuiQ 48v onboard charger, so I assume that's what he's using to charge, and more than likely the 2 extra batts are in the bag well (that's where most people put them). I too want to see pics, and video of the wheelies! :)

Sorry I have not got back to this post but it's been a rather busy week. The additional batteries are on the sides of the existing battery rack. I made custom battery mounts and welded them in place. While I had all the batteries out I cleaned the racks and sprayed rubber undercoating on battery racks. I reused the factory heat0sink and mounted the DCX 500 to it. I made a bracket and mounted the 48v solenoid beside the controller. Added a 200A main disconnect for safety. The charging is handled by a Delta Quiq 48v onboard chrager. I have not finished everything yet. I decided on using a seperate 12v battery, mounted in the bad well, to power all the 12v acc. insted of a voltage convertor. I will have quite a host of onboard 12v toys - more on that later Cool thing is the PaktrakR monitoring system. Allows individual voltage and whole pack current monitoring. I have plans on building a better monitor system with a LCD display - more on that later. Here are a few quick pics, will try to take some better ones later and add some more details. BTW - 4' Wheelies are no problem - can you say vertical? |

Very nice MOD_SSO! I like how you stuffed the extra batteries in there with the original 6. Saves a lot of wire that way. Now you gave me ideas, and I'll have to see if there is any way I can do the same thing to my club car somehow (although I do have an ezgo that I could turn into 48v instead). hmmm.

Awesome cart Mod,
I love my CC, but the EZ Go gives you so more more room under the seat to due mods., ie: extra batts., speakers, etc. Your cart looks great...looked good with the old rims too. |

Re: Monster EZGO Does Wheelies >>>
I am just wondering which field map are you running on your motor. Did you send your controller into D&D to get programed, or are you running the factory field map?
Also which motor are you running from D&D if you dont mind me asking. Is it the ES-9B-50?, ES-63-49?, or the ES-76-51. BTW your install looks very sharp and professional And that PakTrakr is a very neat device. I will get my hands on one of those gadgets right away. I didnt even know that they existed untill your post. |
