72volt CC XRT 810E motor help
Howdy from Texas. I have enjoyed reading all the post on buggiesgonewild, great stuff!
Heres my cart. Battery pack Controller and last but not least, why I am here So I have a lift kit 20" tires. Controller is 72volt 400 amp sepex. I knew when I got the cart I wanted to upgrade the batteries. It had 4 12 volt nappa cart batteries. I was going to go with 6 8volts for better range, but when I went to buy them I decided what the hell, I'll get 6 12 volt go big. Well, short part of a long story, It ran great at slow and medium speed for a week or so then once I was comfortable with it I tried a top speed run. Well it hit 30 mph real quick (25mph was as fast as I had pushed it) and right at 30 a buzzing sound started from the motor. So the rotor is toast and I need a new motor. Question is what do I get? I sent a message to plum quick but have not heard back from them just yet. I really want to run 35mph when I want to to get to the neighbors house quick. the rest will be 10-20mph around my little farm. I figured 72 volt might get me what I wanted. Anyway my controller will run sepex or series motors but I would prefer to have regen when I want it. So what motor do I need? |

What controller are you using? I have never heard of a controller that will run series and sepex?

The controller is a Kelly. You can program it to not use the field circuit so you can run series and permanent magnet motors.

Re: 72volt CC XRT 810E motor help
Call Vic or Eric at D&D motors, they will get you a perfect motor for your needs in under a week. They also answer the phone always (well, a phone attendant does, ask for Vic or Eric).
I'm not knocking PQ but I've always got a busy tone when I called. My neighbor actually got through once and after 3-4 weeks he got his PQ motor and it wasn't the one he ordered. Bad luck I suppose? |
