No I am not underestimating it, You can simply look at the motor equations to figure out that is not true.

Also, the assumption the folks using your carts only press the pedal all the way down after they are at cruising speed is questionable.

If You start from a stand still and press the pedal, your motor will unnecessarily overheat.

As I mentioned, there is nothing new or secret about field weakening and I am glad it is working for You, but anyone that does not know what it is and what it does should not try to do it.

How would this be done on a club car DS? Where do you tap? Id imagine the best bet is a switch?

Do you have a series wound motor? I thought DS had shunt wound motor. No field shorting with shunt motor.
